For Easter this year we did the usual hiding of the eggs and basket for Makenna for Easter morning and then later we had a houseful. We had my brother Josh and his girls come over and we had them do an Easter Egg Hunt outside. Then we had family in from RI, plus Chris's family over for a Easter Feast.
Baby Brooke was sleeping so unfortunately she's not part of the "girl power" picture
Now if every family meal happened like this - life would be grand!
My S-I-L made this pretty clever!

Texas Day 5 - Tower of the Americas
On 4/16/14 we got up and walked from our hotel to the Tower of the America's. It's a 750 foot tall tower with an observation deck that let's you see the city of San Antonio from different views. It was a bit windy on the observation deck - no surprise there.
We stopped at a lower level to get lunch. This level allowed you to sit and it spun around as we ate so we could still see the views of San Antonio while we ate.
We then went to a children's museum where Makenna found the piano to play
and a pretend airplane so she could relive the joy of flying in a plane again (said sarcastically as the flight over she was complaining about her ears hurting - even after giving her gum to try and relieve the pressure).
For dinner we went back to the Riverwalk and found this Mexican restaurant which for $5.00 (I think it was that much) serenaded us with a song. I have it on video somewhere - I'll have to see if I can find it and add it to this post. I think we had them sing La Bamba.

Texas Day 4
On 4/15/14 we drove into Austin as that's where Jared, Jessica, and the kids live. Eli was still in school so the rest of us went to a science center in the morning. They had a lot of things for kids (and adults) to play with. Then in the afternoon after Eli got out of school, we went to a Botanical Garden Place where they had little "fairy" homes that people built out of materials around the park - they were pretty cool.
This was pretty cool thing that you could make music with by putting your fingers over the water spouts. I remember Makenna getting frustrated when other kids were coming around interrupting her "music"
These were some of the fairy houses that we saw around the botanical gardens (there's more below) - don't forget to "click" on the pictures to see bigger versions.
